So Yeon Kim is the director of Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (a.k.a. KACES). So Yeon oversees international relations, regional cooperation, publicity, professional development, and policy research & statistics within KACES.

So Yeon Kim has been supporting Korean teaching artists, practitioners, and arts/cultural mediators to foster and enlarge their engagement in communities, schools, and various social/cultural settings both locally and internationally. 

Before joining KACES in 2013, So Yeon led professional development program for artists, arts managers/administrators and local cultural mediators within Korea Arts Management Service(KAMS). She was senior manager of Performing Arts Market in Seoul(PAMS) and took charge in joint projects for international showcase/touring and information service for domestic/international arts professionals. After her bachelor degree in Sociology and in doing her postgraduate in comparative literature(her focusing cultural studies), she started her junior career in the Independent Arts Festival(called Seoul Fringe now) and in a small-scaled filming event of Feminist Artist Network. Currently she is a mother of a brave girl and a partner of a wise man.
