EDEN Engagement: A partnership between ITAC and Joyce Di Donato’s EDEN, activating Teaching Artistry in all EDEN ‘22-’23 tour cities around the world to deepen impact and create positive change in environmental responsibility at the community level. .
The performance of EDEN is committed to environmental awareness and commitment. It will be the STORYTELLERS who bring us out of the ashes of the pandemic and charge humanity to finally take lasting action for our climate. The storytellers breakdown borders, unite us through commonalities, and infuse us with hope that inspires action.
Three-time Grammy Award winner Joyce DiDonato is the storyteller for EDEN, putting into motion the call for change by reimagining the concert experience, while vastly expanding the educational and cultural impact of EDEN's message outside the concert hall through EDEN Engagement.
EDEN seeks to explore the ways in which the concert experience, in collaboration with teaching artists and community engagement, can be the catalyst which creates that change.
ITAC designs and delivers EDEN Engagement, which has teaching artists in every tour city creatively engaging with young people in workshops (in some cities as many as a series of six) to raise their environmental awareness, knowledge, and sense of agency to make a difference with their actions.
EDEN Engagement aims to create a new industry-defining model for Arts Outreach in concert tours, commissioning teaching artists at every stop of the tour, where community engagement is central to experience rather than an pleasant add-on. Once the tour is complete, we will share the workshop models, impact assessment data, and curricula which were developed in undertaking the work, and disseminate them widely with an invitation for others in our sector to join us in deepening impact.
