Born in Margarita Island, Venezuela, José Ángel Salazar Marín is a prominent young conductor and teaching artist with wide experience in the approach of different repertoire and varied programming, with a special focus on sequential repertoire for educational ensembles.

Currently, he serves as the Artistic Director and Conductor of El Sistema Greece and its youth orchestra, performing and programming concerts in Greece's most prestigious concert venues and festivals, and working on community building and social development through music. An alumnus of the Academy for Impact Through Music’s Firebird Fellowship, he is taking on new leadership roles with AIM.
