Yonglun Liu

Singapore: Senior Manager at National Arts Council

Yonglun currently works at the National Arts Council in Singapore as a Senior Manager in the Arts Education unit. He oversees the council’s efforts in Special Education, Teaching Artistry (in schools), Children & Youth At-Risk and Music Education.  Yonglun was part of the team that developed the Visual Arts Learning Standards for Singapore SPED Schools, a framework that will guide schools in customising their own Visual Arts curriculum.

He also helped to produce one of the first sensory-friendly/relaxed performances in Singapore for individuals on the autism spectrum. He continues to lend advice to arts groups embarking on this initiative. In recent years, Yonglun has been trying to set up art groups, from drama to string ensembles, to address the need to engage adults with disabilities through the arts. His latest project is an inclusive choir to engage these adults and their siblings in community singing.

Yonglun also pursues the art of jazz guitar.
